The Angel Eperiment (Maximum Ride)

This was the first book I read in 2016, yes this seems to be like a once a year thing but I'll try to make more posts I promise! Back to the book, this is the first book in the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson and it's about these kids that have been mutated by scientists, they're many different animals that kids were experimented on but we follow a group of kids that were muteded with genes of birds so they have wings (that's why it's called the angel experiment).

Personal Opinion:
My friend was the one that recomended me and let me borrow this book. I was motivated to read it because it had angels, wich I soon realized they weren't quite angels, still I enjoyed reading it and it felt like such a fast read because of the really short chapters. This is a great book to read if you're juststarting to read because you like it.

I give this book a 4/5 stars on Goodreads mainly because it was good but it wasn't that mindblowing.I have to admit that I had a little hard time remembering the names of some of the kids.

Gone by Michael Grant

This is the first book in the Gone series by Michael Grant and I have to say this first book was amazing and nothing of what I was expecting.

This is not the greatest cover in the world... I mean they are just two people staring dramaticaly towards who knows what. Maybe a person behind the camera, a puppy or maybe just a wall. Who knows? Still the book it's great and even though we all do it just don't judge a book by it's cover.

Summary
This is just a normal town with (in the mayority) normal children until one day all people of 15 and older disapear. POOF everyone just goes. No one knows what is happening and the bullies take control over everyone. But not only did the adults disapear, the animals are muttating and the children are developing powers, this is mainly the story of what these children do with this kind of situation.

Rating
I loved it, like idk how will I react or do if I were in their shoes. Obviously I wouldn't take the iniciative but I'll still like to help some. These characters are so cool and brave compared to me and I can't wait to know what happens.

Tbh I just found this review halfways so I decided to complete it with the information that I remember which I have to be honest it's not that much, so sorry for this short review.

Hello again...

Well I just went and read my blog and saw that my last post was last year... Now 2015 is almost over and I have to admit that this has been so far a wonderful yet stressing and kind of lonley year. I have just read 4 books so far in the whole 10 months of 2015 and it's really embarassing.

My main reason of why I haven't been reading is that I have just found a new thing that has taken out most of my time and that's kdramas and some kpop. It's like a whole new world! Now I've decided to come back into the reading world and more since new and interesting books are comming/ have come out.

Anyways I wanted to post again and promise that I'll do the reviews for the books I've read and the ones I'll read soon. It's more a promise to myself but still I'll try to keep it. Now I'm going to go and keep reading :)

Favorite books of 2014

Okay so this year has been a wonderfull & pretty terrible at the same time. My best reading period of the year was summer, since I had a lot of time to kill. This list will include only books that I read this year, it doesn't mean it came out in 2014.

  1. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell --> This was the first book by Rowell that I have read and it was amazing!!
  2. The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken--> This book was awesome. I loved the world and the powers that this kids have and how they manage to survive all the stuff they have to go through (no spoilers).
  3. Angelfall by Susan Ee--> I do have to say that I mainly picked up this book because I had some knowledge about angels thanks to the show Supernatural and thats mainly why but this book was incredible! I love how this book is terrifying, sweet and exciting at the same time.

  4. The 5th Wave by Rick Yancy--> I first thought that this was going to be just another zombie story but ohh boy was I wrong! The first thing is that there are no zombies and the second one is that it just felt so real to me and I love the fact that there are more than one POV and we know what happens to everyone and it's just fantastic.
  5. Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout--> More aliens! But now in Highschool. I have to say that I had low expectations and what really made me read this book was the fact that the main character (Katy) loved books and she even had a book blog!
  6. Spark(book #2) by Brigid Kemmerer-> This book was addicting and great. I loved the fact that the main character in this book was one of the twins and also I loved his powers, For those of you who haven't read this series you should, thete are people with powers and romance and some action.
  7. We were liars by E.Lockhart--> This book was unique and mysterious and the main thing about this books it's to go and read it without knowing anything about it.
These were my favorite books that I read this year and even if I had my up and downs it was still great and I hope that 2015 will be even better! :)

December TBR

Hello!! I've kind of been in a reading slump mostly because of school but I'm also watching some tv shows that do take my time. So soon I will begin exams wich means I won't have too much time in the future 2 weeks but then it's christmas break so I will have a lot of time to read and watch tv shows but I want to get to read some books. I decided to do this TBR (To Be Read) post so that I post something before getting into exams.

  • Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare --> so I started this book less like a month ago, I started it before I got The Blood Of Olympus and when I got it I decided to put this book down for a while but then school. So yeah I want to finish this baby.
  • Champion by Marie Lu --> I have already read the first 2 books and loved them, when I bought  this book I just wasn't ready because I had just finished Prodigy (the second book) but I think now I'm ready.
  • The Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger --> My cousin lend this one to me because I really want to read it and mostly because I kind of want to get out of my comfort zone wich is basically YA and I don't know why but in my school we don't read this book but I'm going to read it because I want to and I think that will make me like more this book.
  • The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima--> I have this book as an e-book, and I have to say I didn't like e-books until this year and man they are awesome, yes my mother says I will get blind for stearing so much time at the screen but they are much easier to move. By the way just started this book and it seems interesting so far.
That's all I will plan to read I seariusly hope I get through every one of this books or even more but with my family here and my  tv shows I may be getting on a read slump but let's just hope that doesn't happens.

Until next time!

The Blood Of Olympus

The Blood Of Olympus by Rick Riordan (Book #5)

ALERT: This is the fifth book in the Heroes of Olympus series so there will be spoilers but you should know that this series is awesome and one of my favorite series in the world.

Previously:
So in The House Of Hades we were left with our beautiful 8 demigods (yeah i'm including Nico) leaving the doors of death, with our main characters Percy and Annabeth a little crazy after their time in Tartarus and who wouldn't be? Anyways Leo has now met Calypso and wants to get back to her. And they have to figure out a way to beat Gaea the godess of the earth otherwise she would kill everyone but yeah no big deal.

The Begining:
At first I was kind of disapointed by the fact that Percy didn't have a POV, like come on Uncle Rick this is the last book you can't do this to us!!
It got a little better when i noticed that Nico and Leo talked, they are 2 o my favorite characters btw, also I was taken by surprise whe I discovered that Reyna also talked and man she is great. I really liked her parts, not as much as Nico's or Leo's but they were still great.

Jason, I have had some problems with him but most of the time i like him. It's just that everyone including him always say that he is very strong but like most of the time he is knocked down or unconcious and well that dosen't give him time to impress me, but still i really liked that he even addmits it at some point in the book and also Percy tells him. I really liked that he overcame that struggle he had with his mom and that he magicaly survived that stab in the back that he got at Ithaca.

Piper, i really don't have a problem with her, I think she is great and a strong independent woman also beautiful. She was verry strong in this book and she even got some nursury time with Jason, her dagger didn't really helped that much but still I think that dagger is awesome. I don't think she struguled as much as other characters in this book so I think that maybe she could have been replaced by other character like PERCY.

Leo, I jusgt freaking love him okay, I was really concerned for him while reading this book and mainly because I knew he was the one who was going to sacrifice himself in order to defeat Gaea. I loved that part when he and Percy bond and the talk about Calypso. There was a part when he thought that he needed to make joks and specially when he didn't feel like it and that part just hit me hard. Like making jokes is his way of not showing that he was scared and all. I just wish that he would have returnedto camp Half-Blood just so that everyone knew that he was alive and maybe he could have taken Calypso with him and he could have introduce her to everyone and I think that would have been a better ending (Just my opinion though).

Nico, This was the first time that he had a POV in like ever so I was really exited to get into his mind. I think that it was great and necesary that he and Reyna bond, with this and the quest I think that Nico develop alot more than in the other books. His powers are so cool and a little creepy but more cool. I kind of wish that i could do the same things he does but without the banishing thing. One of my favorite parts with him was almost at the end when he told Percy that he used to have a crush on him, I was laughing at loud so hard. Also I wasn't expecting that he and Will would become such good friends at the end. Anyway it's great that he decided to stay at camp Half-Blood where he is surounded by friends and people that care about him.

Reyna, At the begining of the series I just didn't pay that muxh attention to her but with this book I've come to really like her. Her story with her dad almost made me cry. She is really brave and she's also hella smary. I really like that she wanted to protect Nico, which I think it's great and mostly because I think that Reyna and Nico are verry much a like, I know this sounds crazy but they do have many things in comon, I don't think she needs to be in a relationship in order to be happy.

Percy & Annabeth, I wish that we knew more about them, like sure i'm happy that they will go to collage and all that stuff but I think that this whole that we, as devoting readers and fans of the books. were expecting was created from the very start of this book since we don't get to see what they think and like when they get reunited with their parents or maybe even with what they are going through because they just got out of freaking tartarus! Anyway I love them and will always do,

Hazel & Frank, They were treated like they were background characters, they were just there in this book which I hate because they had so much potential and stuff we didn't know what happen to those things. Like I want to know what happened with Frank's family when he visited them, or what happened with his wood stick?

Favorite parts:

  • I've got to admit my favorite part was when they where with Nike, and how they invoked her with the Adidas promoting. That was just hilarious, there was also a Hunger Games reference wich I as a fan really apriciated.
  • My second favorite part was when all 7 demigods are fighting against the giants and then the gods descend from the sky and every god is helping their child. That moment was just pure gold, I just kind of wish that we could have seen what Posidon or Athena told to their children.
  • Also that part with Kym and the action figures was very funny and the giant yelling no!! no merchendise! That made my whole week.

Rating:
I gave this book a 4/5 mostly because it slacked more answers and percabeth but the writting style was awesome as always and I really enjoyed this book. I have to say that I wasn't that disapointed as many people because before I read the book people were saying that they didn't like that much this book and a lot of bad things so my expectations weren't that high. I love this series and I think I will re-read them all some day and still love them.

Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children

Miss Peregrine´s Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

First Impressions:
Okay so I first heard alot about this book because of a booktuber named Jessethereader, which i love by the way, and he said it was an amazing book and that everyone should read it which i did. I have to admit that at first i thought that this book was going to be scarry so i decided to read it on the month of October being halloween and all that stuff but it didn't turn out that way.

Synopsis:
This book it's about this guy named Jacob. His granfather used to tell some stories to him when he was little, this stories where about Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children and since his grandfather had once lived there he knew about the thing that made this children special. When Jacob was little he believed all these stories but as he grew up he began to think that they were just stories. When Jacob's grandfather dies he is determined to go to this home in search for answers about his grandfather even if it means traveling across the ocean to do it.

My opinion (be carefull spoilers ahead):
It took me a while to get into this book mainly because i was expecting another thing but don't get me wrong I really liked this book i just didn't love it. I was on a reading slump while i read this so i like to think that is why it took me a month to finish it.
The images make it more real and it's also unique, or it is for me, and the fact that this photos are real and that they weren't taken just for the book makes me love this book even more.
I wasn't expecting this book to be about time traveling! That one took me by surprise and it was in a good way. I really liked how this book turned out and I can't wait to read the second book.

Rating:
4.5/5
Because it did took me a while to finish this book but I also really liked it so i would recomend it!
